About Me
Hey ya. I would love to write you some eloquent, poetic statement about how I love photography and couples and love and couples in love, etc, etc, etc, but, well, that’s really not me. However, this is me:
- I was born in Miami where I went to pre-school (Cushman), elementary school (St. Stephens) and junior high school (Trinity). Shout out if you went to the same schools.
- I went to high school in Colorado (Colorado Rocky Mountain School….same school as the great Oliver Platt) on a functioning ranch. My choice was based on the view, their fully functioning darkroom, their “as long as it doesn’t have too many holes or profane language” dress code and the student guide was really cute. Dude, I was 14.
- For four years in high school I had a permanent scent of developer on my hands and was disciplined a record 41 times in three years for being in the darkroom after lights-out. But no major actions were taken against me because at least it wasn’t sneaking out to do drugs……no comment on the later. Dude, it was Colorado!
- I went to college at Savannah College of Art & Design. My choice was based on the head of Photography buying me lunch, the President of the college took me on a personal tour of the future photography department and introduced me to a bunch of cute fashion design student. Dude, I was 18.
- One semester my parents threatened to cut me off when they got the credit card charge for film and paper. I had to have my professor call them to assure them it was his fault and not mine.
- Moved back to Miami to work for a government agency documenting crime scenes and shooting surveillance photographs. My decision was based them giving me a fully loaded camera bag and a badge. Dude, I’m a guy…..I still have the badge.
- Moved to Boston after meeting Boston Girl at the Biltmore pool. Decision was based on her looking like an even mix of Julia Ormand and Natalie Portman…nuff said.
- Boston Girl was a bad relationship choice, Boston on the other hand was a great choice.
- While in Boston I lived in Roslindale, Allston, West Roxbury, Quincy, Needham and Cambridge.
- Go Sox
- After six years I decided that the Winters were too cold when I my camera shutter actually froze while shooting outside.
- Moved back to Miami. Decision was based on my butt needing to be thawed out.
- Met this amazing, gorgeous Brazilian-American girl.
- Somehow convinced Brazilian-American girl to marry me.
- Had a beautiful baby boy named William with the biggest, blinky blue eyes in the world.
- Seven years later, Brazilian-American girl and I had another beautiful baby boy named Xander (Alexander) who also has the biggest blinky blue eyes.
- The three of them are both my greatest accomplishments and my greatest rewards in life.
- 25 years later, I still love photography as much as I did when I developed my first roll of film and I still feel that same excitement when reviewing pictures from your engagement session and wedding as I did holding that still dripping roll of film to the light.
